Recognizing the opportunity for cross-city collaboration and learning, a group of national partners came together to form Forward Cities. This unique collaborative effort between New Orleans, Detroit, Cleveland, and Durham seeks to develop and support more business entrepreneurs, social innovators, and neighborhood change-makers from low income communities of color. By working with and in these communities, our members and partners are helping to build a vibrant pipeline for the next generation of local entrepreneurs and citizen problem solvers.
Forward Cities works to:
- Make entrepreneurial innovation training, and coaching more widely available, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods
- Identify the most effective ways to support and develop leaders, entrepreneurs, and businesses in low income neighborhoods
- Uncover strategies for building innovative leadership and an entrepreneurial workforce, especially in traditionally disconnected communities
